How do you rate the venues?
Every venue is scored on the things that actually matter on matchday: screen size and viewing angles from every seat, sound quality, seating capacity, drink selection, and how the staff handle a packed house under pressure. We visit during real fixtures, not quiet afternoons.
Are the venues family-friendly?
It depends on the venue and the kick-off time. Daytime fixtures are usually relaxed and welcoming to all ages, but most sports bars shift to a strictly over-18s crowd for big evening matches, late-night boxing, and title deciders. Always check with the venue beforehand.
Do I need to book a table in advance?
For Cup Finals, derbies, Champions League nights, or any fixture with a big following, yes — book ahead. Our top-rated venues fill up fast, and walk-ins for major matches are rarely guaranteed a seat with a good view.
Do these venues show sports other than football?
Most of the bars on our list are equipped for a full sporting calendar — think rugby internationals, boxing and UFC pay-per-views, Formula 1 race Sundays, NFL, cricket, darts, and more. Check each venue's listing for its typical coverage.
What if a venue on the list has closed or changed?
Let us know through our contact page. We regularly re-check our listings, but the hospitality world moves fast, and we'd rather fix an outdated recommendation quickly than leave you standing outside a closed pub on matchday.
